Disassembling Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS AV port and Logic board

Steps:

1. Remove wrist strap and battery.

2. Remove 2 screws from each side of the camera (4 total, 0.102 in).
3. Remove 2 screws from the bottom on the camera (0.138 in).
4. Do not mix the 4 side screws with the 2 bottoms ones; they are different sizes.

5. Gently pull off the front cover.
6. The plate on the side should come off.
7. Gently pull off the back cover.

8. The cases should now be removed.

9. Remove the top-left screw above the LCD screen (0.100 in).
10. Remove the C-shaped plate from the side of the LCD screen.

11. Remove the screw from the top-right of the LCD screen (0.098 in).
12. Remove the L-shaped bar from the right of the LCD screen.

13. Use the spudger to remove the L-shaped bar from the left-side of the LCD screen.

14. Use tweezers to remove the connector ribbon from the top-left corner above the LCD screen.
15. Be gentle. This ribbon should stay attached to the screen.

16. Use a spudger to lift the connector lock (black flap) at the end of the larger LCD connector ribbon on the front side of the camera.
17. Use the tweezers to lift this ribbon.
18. Use the tweezers to gently peel this ribbon from the one underneath it.

19. The LCD screen should now be removed.

20. Remove the screw located on the side of the camera (0.072 in).

21. Use the spudger to remove the lens ribbon from the circuit board.
22. Use the spudger to lift the ribbon.
23. This ribbon is connected to the lens, but the flash assembly ribbon is underneath it.

24. Disconnect the flash assembly ribbon.
25. The flash assembly ribbon is located underneath the lens assembly ribbon.

26. Remove the flash assembly, which includes the capacitor. If it resists, note the small hook on the right side near the bottom.
27. Be careful when taking out the capacitor. It could shock you.

28. The capacitor should now be removed.

29. Remove 4 screws from silver plate (0.106 in).

30. Use spudger to lift the second lens ribbon.
31. Remember the first ribbon was removed while taking out the flash assembly.

32. Use spudger to carefully lift the LED light off the upper-left corner of the lens.

33. Remove the lens.

34. The camera lens should now be removed.

35. Remove screw from top-right of logic board (0.102 in).
36. Remove screw on the silver plate (0.102 in).

37. Remove screw from bottom-right of logic board board (0.102 in).
38. The tripod connector can now be removed.

39. Remove screw (0.102 in) from the left side of the logic board.

40. Using the spudger, disconnect the ribbon cable located on the top of the logic board.

41. The logic board may now be removed from the frame.

42. Remove the remaining screw (0.102 in) located on the camera strap piece.
43. The camera strap piece and the av port/battery/memory card assembly can now be removed.

44. This is the final product.
