Steps:

  1. Turn the phone over to expose the battery cover.
  2. Apply pressure to the back of the battery cover to slide it down.
  3. The battery cover is now separate from the phone.

  5. Remove the battery by pushing it up and out from the bottom.
  6. The battery, cover, and phone should now be separated.

  8. Start by prying, with a metal probe, the black covers that are located by the pivoting joints of the phone/
  9. Beneath those covers are the screws.

  11. Remove the screws using a Y0 screwdriver.

  13. Use the iPod pry tool to remove the outer screen.
  14. Two screws are now visible.
  15. Be careful not to crack the screen upon removal. It adheres strongly to the phone.

  17. Use the Y0 screwdriver to remove the screws.

  19. Use the iPod pry tool to loosen the faceplate from the phone.
  20. Slide the pry tool along the entire crease of the faceplate to completely detach it.

  22. Separate the faceplate from the phone.

  24. Turn the phone over.
  25. Place a spudger in the oval shaped speaker opening of the phone (indicated by the red rectangle).
  26. Turn the phone so the exposed circuit board faces upward.
  27. Keep the spudger in the speaker while turning the phone.
  28. The speaker is indicated by the yellow rectangle.

  30. Push the spudger through the speaker opening to separate the speaker (indicated by the yellow rectangle).

  32. Grasp the speaker (indicated by the yellow rectangle) with tweezers, or with your fingers if you can manage a firm grip.
  33. Firmly remove the speaker.
