Steps:

  1. Make sure the laptop is turned off and unplugged.
  2. Flip the laptop over so the audio jacks are facing you.
  3. Unlock the battery by sliding the button (located above the battery) towards the outer edge of the computer. When you feel the battery release and pop up, gently pull the battery from its compartment.

  5. Flip the laptop back over and open it.

  7. Pry out the 4 screw covers with a dental pick or other small pointed tool, and remove the screws located beneath them.

  9. Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry the front bezel off.
  10. The bezel will tend to "snap" off little by little, as you work around it, don't be afraid to use a little force.

  12. Now remove the top cover by unscrewing the two Phillips #0 screws found at the bottom of the panel.
  13. You are removing the cover behind the LCD, not the LCD screen. The two screws are the only thing holding it so carefully support it so it does not pull on and damage any cables.

  15. Unplug the display data cable attached to the back of the LCD.
  16. Do not touch this area,it destroys the backlight!

  18. Finally, remove the LCD screen by unscrewing the six screws connecting the LCD panel to the side frame.
