PSP Go Headphone Jack Replacement

Steps:

  1. Unscrew the four Phillips screws on the back of the PSP Go.
  2. Rotate the PSP so you can see the top of the device.
  3. Unscrew the two Phillips screws next to the volume buttons.

  5. Use a plastic opening tool around the perimeter of the back cover to loosen it on all sides.
  6. Open the back cover by gently lifting the right side, and rotating it to the left side (as if you were opening a book).
  7. Be careful not to rotate the back cover from the bottom, as you will break the plastic screw holes on top of the device.

  9. Pull the top cover upwards gently from its housing.

  11. Remove the two Phillips screws holding the bottom plate.
  12. Gently lift the bottom plate away from the device.

  14. Remove the black Phillips screw holding the headphone jack in place.
  15. Step image
  16. Use a pair of tweezers and grasp the black plastic portion of the headphone jack cable.
  17. Slowly pull out the cable. If it's hard to pull, wiggle it slightly side-to-side while pulling it.
  18. Plugging the new headphone jack into place will require some force. Make sure not to break the connector while performing this procedure. Grasp the black plastic portion of the cable and wiggle it into the logic board connector.
